Ministry Launch Feeds Body and Souls

On a typical beautiful morning in southern California, we launched our "Church Without Walls" at Eucalyptus Park in Chula Vista. Recognizing the great need of both physical and spiritual nourishment in our own community, Gives Hope is trying to meet that need head on!  Our first monthly event attracted over 17 of our neighbors, along with our volunteers.

Setting up in the southwest end of the park allowed for a sense of privacy under the shade of two sprawling trees.  As in any typical church service, we opened with praise and worship to our heavenly Father, not because of his unconditional love for us and his gift of grace, but just because He is GOD!  It was pointed out that no matter what we think about the quality of our own voices singing, our Lord loves all praise and worship intent on bringing Him well deserved glory.

The message was delivered by Chaplain Uldarico "Ed" Edquid from Proverbs 3:26, a message of maintaining confidence in the Lord.  A fitting message for all in attendance and well received.  And after a blessing for the food, the meal was served.  Slightly used clothing and care packs were available for give-away.  Other than the message from the Word, the other greatest gift we all have at our disposal was that of shared prayer.  Taking the opportunity to fellowship with our neighbors, we always offered an opportunity to pray for them and with them for their needs.  It also gives us the opportunity to pray for their souls, that they may find Jesus if they do not yet know him or to help strengthen their walk with Christ.

God has used us to plant the seed of this ministry here in our community.  We submit ourselves to His will and let Him use us to help it grow and flourish.
